The first song I wrote for this record was ‘Stories’. I wrote it while living remotely and off-grid in the interior of Alaska during 2020. The amount of upheaval that was happening during that Summer was immense. ‘Stories’ encapsulates the feelings that were happening within me as I watched the events of the world from a removed and quiet place. I took that song, my instruments and my recording equipment to a rented apartment within walking distance to the beach in Northern Florida. I finished writing the record in 5 weeks. Finished recording it in Anchorage, AK. The lyrics were influenced by Fowzia Karimi’s book, “Above Us The Milky Way”. This book led me to new ways of thinking about creativity. A wonderfully beautiful book that helped shape this record. The album is now available to stream wherever you listen.
